Operational Briefs
South America
- Argentina – Aeroparque/SABE airport is closest to downtown. Special Authorization can be obtained for operations directly into SABE. Contact ITP for more information.
- Chile – Due to distance from suitable landing alternates, Easter Island has very restrictive slot/permit requirements.
- Argentina – Falkland Islands operations require special coordination with RAF and Argentine Civil Aviation Authorities.
- Ecuador – Operations into Galapagos Islands must clear into/out of Ecuador via Airport of Entry. Galapagos Island is a nature preserve. All crew and passengers must pay $100 USD upon arrival.
- Brazilian Authorities have been requiring copilots to possess a type rating. This basically means that unless there are two type rated pilots on board the airplane, then the flight is at risk of being grounded, a fine of $10,000 imposed and/or possibly the non-rated/insufficiently rated pilot being jailed.
